India became world champion in kabaddi a day ago. I swear not many Indians know it. Had it been cricket or hockey we would have organized thousands of processions in celebration. But sadly it is kabbadi and even when we win world cup in this sport and that also by beating up arch rival Pakistan , no Indian channel finds it appropriate to run a story on it.
This is the same news channels who did 24x7 live coverage of Sania – Sohaib marrage. These are the same channels who are dedicating everyday at least one half of their total on air timing to IPl which is essentially a club cricket. And these are the same news channels who chose to ignore the news of india becoming kabbadi world champion. At least government was shameful enough to enounce some cash prize for players and give them a job. But news channels who calls themselves mouthpiece of common man would not care to run even a ulay of this common man game. Shame!
